About the CSIRO Staff Association:
http://csirostaffassociation.wordpress.com/
The CSIRO Staff Association represents the industrial and professional interests of employees of the CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation).
The Staff Association has around 3,000 members, that is, approximately half of all CSIRO staff, across every work area and geographical location in Australia.
Our strength is the power of our membership, and the willingness of members to be involved. The Staff Association is a section of the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU), one of the largest unions in Australia. The CPSU represents scientists and science staff in government agencies such as the Bureau of Meteorology and the Australian Institute of Management. Together, we are a powerful voice for scientists and science staff in Australia.
CSIRO Staff Association members are represented at each site by their colleagues, who are elected as workplace delegates for a 12 month term. Delegates in each State or Territory form Sub-section delegates committees (SDCs) which meet on a regular basis to share information across workplaces and provide input to the CSIRO Staff Association (Section) Council. The CSIRO Staff Association is managed by a Council and Executive who are elected every three years. The President and Secretary are represented on the CPSU’s Governing Council.
The CSIRO Staff Association provides a representative, democratic voice for CSIRO staff. We advocate for you – for CSIRO, and for science. Join us! Download our membership form.

Mr Sam Popovski, Secretary, CSIRO Staff Association. Sam is a former Livestock CSIRO scientist from the Centre for Environment and Life Sciences at Floreat in Western Australia. Sam is committed to representing communities – he was previously the Deputy President of the Perth-based Shire of Stirling and, at the time, the youngest Deputy Mayor in WA.
